Insurance group encouraged by GOP bill

Dean Heller says he opposes the GOP bill scuttling much of the Obama health care law, complicating the effort by party leaders to guide the measure through the Senate.

"I can not support a piece of legislation that takes insurance away from tens of millions of Americans and tens of thousands of Nevadans", Heller said.

"It doesn't protect Nevadans on Medicaid and the most vulnerable Nevadans", Heller said at a news conference in Las Vegas.

The future of the Senate Republican leadership's healthcare bill, released on Thursday, is already in doubt as at least five Republican senators have come out in opposition of the legislation in its current form.

President Trump spent part of his Saturday at Trump National Golf Club but had healthcare on his mind.

The 13-point list also asks Qatar to sever all ties with the Muslim Brotherhood and Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement. He reiterated the position taken by the Qatari government that shuttering the network is not an item up for negotiation.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell stitched it together behind closed doors, potentially moving President Donald Trump and the GOP toward achieving perhaps their fondest goal - repealing former President Obama's 2010 statute, his proudest domestic legacy. The four holdouts, among the Senate's most conservative members, said the plan failed to rein in the federal government's role, highlighting Republicans' struggle to craft legislation to revamp a sector that accounts for one-sixth of the world's largest economy.

In addition, the Senate plan calls for growing spending for the traditional Medicaid program more slowly than the House version, which critics say would force states to make cuts.

The Senate plan repeals the Affordable Care Act's individual mandate, slashes federal support of Medicaid and eliminates taxes on the wealthy and insurers that now help pay for care for the poor.

"Well they are also four good guys and they are four friends of mine and I think that they'll probably get there, we'll have to see", he said on "Fox & Friends". Only two Republicans need to defect to kill the bill. The Senate version is expected to be scored as early as next week.

Trump later criticized the House bill privately as "mean" and this week called for a health plan "with heart".

Codie Taylor had scored the hosts' opener in the first half after Elliot Daly was denied at the other end. You never know how important that could prove come Saturday and the second Test against the All Blacks.

"If we get to impasse, if we go to a bill that is more repeal and less big government programs, yes I'll consider partial repeal", Paul said on ABC.

The Senate measure maintains much of the structure of a House bill passed in May but differs in several key ways.

However, the hard break that Heller made with the Senate bill on means any negotiations McConnell and his allies are likely to have with the conservative wing of the party will be fraught at best. Ted Cruz of Texas, oppose the current bill out outright.

In my opinion, the AHCA threatens the health security of people who have pre-existing conditions or can not pay for skyrocketing premiums, co-payments and deductibles.
