Police in New Orleans announced Monday they had arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with the assault and robbery of two MA men over the weekend.

Police said cellphones and wallets were taken.

8th District Commander Nicholas Gernon and Superintendent of Police Michael Harrison urged the remaining three to turn themselves in before police come to arrest them.

New Orleans police have released video of two tourists from Boston being attacked and robbed.

Attempts to contact Curran were unsuccessful, but a relative told WWL-TV the 32-year-old man remembered little about the attack beyond hearing footsteps behind him. Police said they were there in about two minutes.

Nearly simultaneously, another man punches the second victim in the head, at which point the victim collapses to the ground face first.

The Unitarian Universalist Association identified the men to New Orleans media as Tim Byrne and James Curran. They knocked the two men to the ground and robbed them, police said. The attacker then rummages through the motionless Byrne's pockets as two other robbers arrive on the scene, one of whom pats Curran down. Paul is charged with second-degree robbery, according to the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office website.

One victim is in critical condition after the attack, in which he was punched in the back of the head, fell face-first onto the sidewalk and was left in a pool of what appears to be blood, according to WWLTV.

The first victim eventually finds his glasses on the sidewalk and crawls to the second victim and appears to try to talk to him as two other people walk up to the men to offer assistance, with one taking out his cellphone, apparently to call 911.
