The march, dubbed the "Unite the Right: March on Charlottesville", was organized by criminally convicted Charlottesville local Jason Kessler and his white supremacist group Unity and Security for America.

A federal judge is debating whether to grant an injunction that will allow the Unite The Right rally to be held in Emancipation Park in the shadow of the statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee. Officials have instead asked Kessler to have the demonstration at McIntire Park but the event organizer denied the request, saying that both Airbnb and the city government were attacking "free speech and civil rights".

Terry McAuliffe has placed the National Guard on standby in preparation for a rally in Charlottesville on Saturday, where at least 1,000 nationalists are expected to attend. "The goal in moving the Unite the Right Rally from Emancipation Park to a larger, more accommodating space like McIntire Park had nothing to do with the content of the demonstrators' speech".

Midfielders Danny Drinkwater and Vincente Iborra will both be missing having picked up thigh and groin injuries respectively. Diacre, who won 121 caps for France, has now been in charge of Clermont Foot for three seasons, finished 12th, 7th and 12th.

McAuliffe said there have been communications from extremists who may try to commit acts of violence against participants or police.

"Finally, as we prepare for tomorrow's events, I want to urge my fellow Virginians who may consider joining either in support or opposition to the planned rally to make alternative plans".

"Many of the individuals coming to Charlottesville tomorrow are doing so in order to express viewpoints many people, including me, find abhorrent", he said. Kessler refused to budge, insisting the rally needed to be held at the site of the statue because its removal is "about white genocide".

But even with its scattered assets across the Pacific, the USA is not on war footing towards North Korea. Of course, the accuracy of North Korean missiles would be a queasy variable in the defense equation.

Police Chief Alfred Thomas with the Charlottesville Police Department says there is a lot of anxiety in the community but says his department is ready to keep people safe.

Large crowds are also expected in downtown Charlottesville on Saturday, the city said, with high numbers of protesters demonstrating against the rally expected to be among those in attendance.

In a statement, Charlottesville Mayor Mike Signer called the white supremacists' march on campus a "cowardly parade of hatred, bigotry, racism, and intolerance ... down the lawns of the architect of our Bill of Rights".
