Chelsea have so far refused to follow up a £15million bid for Danny Drinkwater that was rejected by Leicester City earlier in the summer, according to reports.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the west London side are ready to make another attempt to lure the 27-year-old midfielder to Stamford Bridge after failing with their first bid to sign the England global.

The story also says that Drinkwater himself would be "interested" in a move to Stamford Bridge, but accepts that he would face competitive for a starting berth in the Blues' line-up.

Ivan Perisic to Manchester United
If the transfer goes through, he would be Mourinho's fourth summer signing after Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic. The 28-year-old Perisic is in the middle of a transfer speculation linking him with a move to England with Manchester United.

However, the Foxes are ready to dig their heels in and demand the £40m Chelsea received from Manchester United for Nemanja Matic. It's likely that the Chelsea boss is keen to improve his midfield options, but it's doubtful that the 27-year-old would provide the club with the quality the Italian manager is looking for.

Leicester City have maintained their stance on the midfielder, making it be known that he isn't for sale; however, every player has a price, and Drinkwater is no exception.

The Telegraph say Chelsea tabled an initial offer of £15m for the England global some weeks ago but have not followed up with an improved bid.
