Gearbox Reveals Project 1v1, A Competitive FPS Mixed With The Metagame Strategy Of A CCG

Gearbox has just unveiled a new game it's been working on. Project 1v1 combines the action of fast-paced 1v1 first person combat with the metagame strategy of a collectible card game.

Although the developer did not share any gameplay footage of the game, it will be hosting a closed technical test this summer where a limited number of participants will be able to try the game out and provide feedback.

Intel Completes Tender Offer for Mobileye
Intel bought 84 percent of Mobileye's shares and expects to see cars with the Intel-Mobileye technology on the road in 2018. Brian Krzanich recently said in an interview that he foresees autonomous vehicles doubling as security cameras.

Gearbox is certainly thinking outside the box with Project 1v1.

Gearbox Software may have swung and missed with their most recent game called Battleborn, but they're not going to let that slow them down. The early look at the game will offer three modes: ranked, challenge and arena.

Kenya opposition claims vote has been hacked
They are voting in a fiercely contested election that pits President Uhuru Kenyatta against challenger Raila Odinga . Odinga stressed that NASA would reject the preliminary results of the election, labeling them fraudulent.

That top-secret bit seems a little suspect, as Gearbox not only sent out emails to fans, it also launched an official website for the game. Arena, on the other hand, puts players in a queue to take down the current champion of the Arena in order to sit on the throne. Ranked mode, meanwhile, will match players with an opponent based on their player rating. While global players can sign up, servers will be hosted in North America, so the game may not run ideally for those elsewhere in the world. Challenge maps allow players to compete against friends in unranked matches.

Those interested in throwing their name in the hat for technical test consideration can sign up over on the Project 1v1 website.
