Amazon now lets teenagers shop via separate logins attached to their parents' accounts

Teen logins are evidently a new feature of Amazon Households, which allows an account holder to share prime shipping and digital content with members of their households.

Amazon says parents can hand over the shopping keys to the kids, though they'll still have the power to put up a red light.

I'm so impressed with you fearless ones. "Girls like a good tweak-age here and there, but I'd rather have a high-five". A decision hypocritical position, according to the users of Twitter, who were quick to back the video of 2003.

Any time they make a purchase, teens will be able to include a note that explains (or argues) why they need the particular item. "We've listened to families and have built a great experience for both teens and parents", commented Michael Carr, Vice President, Amazon Households. And the option to enroll in the program on a monthly basis eliminates the need for cash-strapped students to have to commit to the full-year Amazon Prime membership if they don't want to.

What's more, parents can share Prime Video and Twitch Prime with their teens, allowing them to have their own account on these services.

Setting up a teen account on Amazon requires input from the parent. By default, parents approve every order. The text message also tells parents to reply by typing in the letter "Y" to approve the transaction or to go to their orders page to review the purchase further. The logic is that these teens will continue to shop through Amazon on their own once they become adults. Parents will not be charged for adding their teen to their account, Amazon said. Parents will also choose a payment method and shipping addresses their teen can use when buying items. To get started, parents can visit amazon.com/forteens or sign up via a text or email invitation from their teens.
