USA officials say Pakistan secured the release of Caitlan Coleman and her husband, Canadian Joshua Boyle.

The announcement of the release comes a month after President Trump announced a new strategy to deal with Afghanistan and Pakistan, saying the Taliban and other militant groups would no longer find safe haven in Pakistan.

It added: "The operation by Pakistani forces, based on actionable intelligence from US authorities, was successful; all hostages were recovered safe and sound".
