The counsel for former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif' daughter, Maryam Nawaz, on Tuesday, completed the cross-examination of Wajid Zia, a key prosecution witness in Avenfield case.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Muzahir Akbar Naqvi conducted hearing of the case.

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) was directed to decide on the complaints within 15 days. His job was to bring anti-judiciary remarks on record, he added. "We'll start the hearing at the time that suits you". "One can't, for instance, make anti-judiciary comments", he added. He pointed out that Article 68 even prevented Parliament from criticising the judiciary and its decisions. Such verdicts are only delivered in Pakistan, he said.

Subsequently, the court directed PEMRA to strictly monitor the speeches.

Plaintiff's lawyer Azhar Siddiq Advocate argued that the anti-judiciary speeches of Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz are being on-aired on television channels that comes under contempt of court.

She said Maryam made the most adverse remarks about the five judges who handed down disqualification to Sharif.

Sharif called for an end to muzzling media and individuals.

The bench also summoned Attorney General of Pakistan (AG) Syed Ashtar Ausaf Ali, and all advocate generals.
